Actress Tichina Arnold and Ex-Husband DaRico Hines 6-Year Divorce Process Finally Completed

Tichina Arnold is happily divorced, and we’re not referring to the TV Land sitcom she starred in with “The Nanny” star Fran Drescher. The actress and her ex-husband, DaRico Hines, are officially divorced, but now that she’s back on the market, what does single life look like for Tichina Arnold? One thing is for sure, the actress is happy the nightmare is officially over after six long years.

DaRico Hines, better known as Rico Hines, is a professional coach for the NBA. Born in Greenville, North Carolina, he has served as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, and Toronto Raptors, where he currently serves. Tichina Arnold met Rico Hines when he was the assistant coach for St. John’s University’s Red Storm basketball team. They soon entered into what the actress described to Essence as a “good relationship” that was God-given because she “deserved it.”

Tichina Arnold and Rico Hines became husband and wife in September of 2012 in a Honolulu ceremony. According to PEOPLE, the then-couple exchanged vows in front of an intimate crowd of 70 members of their closest family and friends. This would be Arnold’s second marriage after her first one to Lamon Brewster ended in 1997. Two years into their marriage, Tichina Arnold gave an update on the state of her marriage to Rico Hines. While speaking with Essence, the Martin actress confessed, “Marriage is absolutely HARD, but it’s good.” In addition, she expressed how “happy” she was.

With both of their schedules becoming very demanding at times, Tichina Arnold shared that they go through bouts where the marriage is like a long-distance relationship. The actress admitted it sometimes makes things complicated and “testy” but assured that all was well.

Two years after her Essence interview, it was announced that their fairytale marriage was over. PEOPLE reported at the top of 2016 that Tichina Arnold filed for divorce from Rico Hines. But soon, the public would discover the bombshell about Rico Hines that ultimately ended their marriage. Hines was alleged to be a habitual cheater, and Tichina Arnold shared with PEOPLE that she could no longer trust her ex. She shared that they tried to work through his prior mistakes. However, “when it becomes a pattern, then it’s no longer my problem,” the actress said.

Tichina Arnold discovered an adult tape showing her husband having an extramarital affair with another woman. According to Sister 2 Sister Magazine, Arnold then sent a group text to unknown parties but assumed to be close friends and family of the pair, announcing their split. The group text contained the video along with Tichina Arnold questioning his actions. “This where I part ways, and all bets are off,” the actress wrote. Rico Hines also became the subject of Charlamagne’s “Donkey Of The Day” segment on The Breakfast Club. However, although initial reports stated that the couple was divorcing in 2016, TMZ obtained documents that showed Tichina Arnold officially filed in 2021. The legal docs clarify the 2016 date as their separation.

After years of separation and waiting, the courts finally recently finalized their divorce. According to a TMZ report, Tichina Arnold is officially a single woman as of July 15, 2022. But what does that mean for the actress? How does single life look for her? In 2017, Tichina Arnold told PEOPLE that she was doing “great” following the split. However, she also admitted that she has no idea what to do as a single woman. “It’s sad. I don’t even know what to look at or what I’m into,” Tichina Arnold said.
